Rome: The Eastern Empire, Paganism and the Rise of Islam.

PSALM 33:11 “The counsel of the Lord standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.

When we discuss the decline and fall of the Roman Empire many people think of Rome as being Europe. This is often the case in Christianity because of the discussion of the beast rising out of the ocean, in Revelation thirteen, with seven heads and ten horns. The seven heads being the city of Rome on seven hills and the ten horns are ten kings of the revived Roman Empire or the European Union as we know it today.

It is thought Christianity alone brought down Western Rome. It seems more likely that tribalism caused the Western Empire to break up into the country groupings that we see today. France was peopled by the Franks and the Gallic peoples some of whom were a branch of the Celts and may have included migrants from Galatia in Asia Minor. The Huns were a Germanic tribe who invaded Rome and formed the Kingdom of the Ostrogoth's while Spain was inhabited by the Visigoths, Seuvi and Basques.

Thus the Western Empire was divided in to separate entities and other influences like the use of mercenaries in the army. Government corruption and insufficient military resources to control Roman interests in Western Europe. This coupled with an over reliance on slave labour the decline of overt paganism inserting different values all combined into a perfect storm that dissolved the political Western Empire in A.D. 479.

However, not many people realise that while we are speaking about the Western Empire and that the Emperor Constantine was instrumental in initiating the transference of the political power of Western Rome into the Church State of the Holy Roman Empire. There is an essay in discussing the evolution of the Western Empire in itself. However, I want to discuss something else which I didn’t really know much about until recently. The continued dominance of the Eastern Empire in the region.

The Eastern Empire continued on after the changes in Western Rome and remained a dominant power until it was finally invaded by the Ottoman Turks in 1453 A.D.. The Eastern Empire was directed by the Emperor based the in the capital city of Constantinople (Modern Istanbul). I was surprised that it continued after the decline of Western Rome for nearly a millennium (1000 years). I had heard that Roman Triremes patrolled the Mediterranean until the end of the ninth century from the Eastern Empire. But the empire actually persisted for another 453 years beyond that.

From a purely Christian point of view God seems to have used the Eastern Empire to protect his people and the word of God from the attack of the enemy through the period of the Dark Ages and up until the end of the Medieval period. Without the Eastern Empire it is doubtful that Christianity would have the had the Received Text and therefore many versions of the bible based on it like the King James Version of 1611 A.D.. It is also likely that Christianity would have been all but snuffed out. For nearly a thousand years the Byzantine Empire provided a relative safe haven against the activities of the Roman Catholic Church (Pagan Rome) and the rise of the newly formed and militant religion of Islam.

The bible speaks of the Mystery of Iniquity which Paul says was active in his time of the first century A.D.. This is the active work of Satan that I believe is called by the Apostle John in the book of Revelation Mystery Babylon. It was established at the fall of the Tower of Babel and has worked insidiously for evil ever since. This organisation has sort to corrupt the minds of the wicked and the wealthy to garner power so as to attack and thwart the plans of the Almighty Yahweh Elohim. In short, during the last two thousand years, to counteract and if possible stop the spread of Christianity by killing Christians and destroying the Church.

Many believe Paganism was defeated by Constantine as he set about Christianising Rome. However I believe that this was far from the truth. Paganism continued (over the last fifteen centuries), to powerfully insinuate itself into the priestly culture. It then moved into every form of government while consolidating a strangle hold on the Christian Church in Europe and then to all levels of government in the countries of Europe, the United States of America and then onto most the rest of the World in the current era.

Well known organistions that are purveyors of Paganism in recent centuries are the Illuminati, Bilderburgers, Free Masons, Rosicrucian's, Jesuits, Theosophical Society, Communism and there are many others. The main vehicle for furthering the cause of Paganism and countering Christianity has been to unite the values of socialism with science to create secular atheism. This has been used to discredit Christianity as myth and legend while replacing Christian moral values with a secular rights based inclusivism. This has seen the rise of a secular agenda aimed exclusively at Christianity and pushing forth a manifesto of paganism including the promotion of homosexuality and abortion. The emphasis on alternate sexuality and the sacrifice of children were strongly integrated into the practices of various pagan religions in the past.

It could be said that the Eastern Roman Empire and the Eastern Orthodox Church mitigated the impact of Western (Pagan), Rome and the Bishop of Rome on the bible believing Church by purifying Christianity and stopping the worship of saints. The Byzantine Empire also fought the good fight until it’s demise in 1453 A.D., against Mohammad and the newly rising crescent of Islam.

Islam was founded the seventh century in the area of the Arabian desert south of Mesopotamia in the towns known in the current era as Mecca and Medina by Mohammad. The military expansion of Islam was almost immediate with Jerusalem, Damascus, Alexandria and Byzantine Cairo falling under Islamic control soon after the founding of the religion in the seventh century. Obviously this had a profound impact on Christianity as these were some of the most important cities to the theological and political basis of the faith at the time.
This had an effect on the bible with the Syrian Text being sent to the Byzantine Empire for safe keeping and becoming the Received Text. It is believed the Vaudois Church kept the Received Text safe after the eventual demise of the Byzantine Empire in 1453. This occurred when the Turkish Muslim group who were descendants of Othman conquered Constantinople after which it became a central hub in the Ottoman Empire.

The Ottoman Empire ruled the region until it’s gradual demise after WWI. I believe many Christians were gladdened to see the crescent of Islam on the wain and that bought about the possibility of the formation of the nation of Israel in 1948 A.D.. In the last seventy years we have seen secularism rise into dominance in the West. The USSR fell and the walls separating Western and Eastern Europe fell at the same time. I think many saw this as a victory to Capitalism but in reality it was a victory to liberalism. The values of socialism had become equally those of the West and there was no longer a need for a wall.

By making war on the Middle East with it’s ally Saudi Arabia the United States has created the perfect environment to allow Islam to spread across the West and via the restraint and manipulation of secularism has allowed Islam to begin to supplant Christianity. There can be little doubt that this is a ploy of paganism reborn and the rise of the New World Church. It will enable a rapid movement to more totalitarian style government and the support of all of the pagan and anti-christian religions while attempting to root out Christianity at last.

And so the Age of Grace will have come to an end at the conclusion of the second millennia after Christ. The Eastern Empire played it’s part with the saints in the battle against pagan Rome and Islam and fought the good fight during its season of endurance until it’s end in 1453 A.D.. The final period of seven years known as the Tribulation will soon be upon us and so as we witness the beginning of the final act before the return of the Son of God Jesus Christ our own final act must be to spread the word of his salvation to as many as can be reached in his name.

JOHN 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

Bringing Christ to the Lost in Secular New Zealand

As a Christian I have viewed New Zealand as a Christian nation. As time has passed by the country has shifted to become a secular democracy. Much of the philosophy that underpins the various secular groupings is diametrically opposed to Christianity. In fact, Christianity has become the pariah of our culture in the second decade of twenty first century New Zealand. It is aligned with Far Right Extremism as being incompatible with liberalism in our time.

It is clearly apparent that in New Zealand we battling a tidal wave of liberal fervour almost identical to the leftist hysteria that is consuming the Democrats in the United States as a backlash to the election of President Donald Trump. Despite the fact that the conservative right is adopting morally defensible positions on issues like abortion where liberals are advocating abortion to the day of birth and including new born infants in some states. Whereas it would seem logical to most conservatives that we should protect the most vulnerable or preserve our cultures from the values and agendas of other ethnic and religious groups. Especially those seeking to immigrate to Western Democracies with the avowed intention to dominate them through a process of reverse assimilation. This approach from the right seems to do nothing but incense the left.

I am not for a minute suggesting we should stop holding to Christian values to placate the angry mob. Although I do think though we could look at what Jesus of Nazareth did in the gospels. The Savior tackled the establishment and left them grasping at straws but to the individuals who needed his help. To these he showed only love. He healed them, he advised them, he called them to follow him and he told them to go and sin no more.

I think we too should fight the political battles as we need too but we should not shun the lost as sinners unworthy of our time. In the last couple of years in my job as a relief teacher I have seen youngsters walking the difficult path of transgender. These young people are largely confused, unhappy and sad. They desperately want to be the opposite sex and to fit in but are not really accepted by their peers. Most staff are at pains to avoid these students other than to teach them in their curriculum area. I can only surmise that this is because they don’t want to cause offense to the transgender student by treating them differently so they avoid them. If you have a young woman in your class called Jack how do you minimise the embarrassment of simply using their name and having other students smile or even snigger. You don’t engage with them.

This often leaves these children socially isolated at school and the only support they have is from school counselors who are already over committed from dealing with other students who have more immediate behavioral issues or factors in their home environment. This leaves the deans or health and physical education teachers to assist these students who I think do a good job because most of the transgender students do settle down over time and seem happier.
The point I’m making here is that these youngsters need all the love, support and help they can get. So if we as Christians could in our personal lives actually be Christ to them and give them love and acceptance instead of the cold shoulder and a judgemental stare. Well, we might develop a relationship where we could demonstrate our Christian values as being relevant in secular society.

Lets face it the devil is never going to let up on us but in the Early Christian Church people weren’t won to the faith by judgement and condemnation but by love and compassion from Christians as brothers and sisters in the faith. Look at Pentecost and what was happening in the early Church where each shared and was given according to their need. A type of communal living which set the Church in good stead to weather intense persecution that intended to wipe Christianity from the face of the Earth in the first centuries after Christ. A situation where the blood of martyrs became the seed of the Church. The more they persecuted the early Church the more Christians there became.

My friends there is nothing wrong with pointing out the error of the world and putting forward the strong Christian values laid out in the Bible. I am simply saying make your life shine with the love of Jesus. Become that person that people seek out for godly advice. Always encouraging in them in their walk to find Jesus or to grow in the faith.

You see we tend to look at the sins of others and judge them. We see transgender or homosexual, adulterer or agnostic but we don’t look at our own sins. When have we looked at someone in anger and wished they didn’t exist. Didn’t Jesus say that if we murder in our heart that, that is murder in deed (Matthew 5: 21-22). That if we lust in our heart that, that is lust in deed (Matthew 5: 27-28). So are we any less guilty and deserving of judgement than the transgender or homosexual person.

Paul says in the book of Romans that “There is non righteous not even one.” Further “All have sinned all fall short of the glory of God.” and finally “The wages of sin is death but the freely given gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 3:10, Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23). So we not only cannot judge others but we dare not judge them. Instead we accept them in love with open arms. We give them counsel not condemnation. We listen and we pray with them and for them that they will be chosen of God in Jesus Christ. That their sins will be forgiven and their biggest problems will be resolved into matters of little consequence before the Ancient of Days.

Finally my friends as the apostle Paul counseled us we should seek God to walk in the Spirit. “For we through the Spirit eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.”(Galatians 5:5). Which is the true purpose of our walk in faith through Jesus Christ. We are being perfected to be like him and that is why by letting his love show through us to the lost. Then through us he can speak to them and when they ask him into their lives he can perfect them through the indwelling Holy Spirit to be like him also. So stand for righteousness but reach out to those in need in love.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another. Galatians 5: 22-26.

By showing the love of Jesus to the World we destroy the efforts of the secular liberal elements of society as they endeavor to group Christianity with Far Right Extremism. More than that we act as salt and light to the society that we live in and we draw the lost to salvation and eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord. We live in the time of the “Great Falling Away” but because of that we have a great deal of seed to sow before the tribulation time begins.

An Outouring of Love

What a couple of week it has been in retrospect. What a terrible act of Terrorism. Who could believe seeing the New Zealand Police force out in large numbers with there rifles in hand. The tributes to the Muslims families and the river of flowers meters deep and many meters long. The people gathered near the Mosques just standing in quiet repose and often with tears streaming down their faces. Contemplating the act of terror that took fifty people in the midst of their lives. Talented people, some old and some young others in their prime. It cut us to the quick as New Zealand citizens and caused an outpouring of love from within our very hearts. Because that is who we are as a nation. A people who would give the shirt of our back or take anyone into our home to get them back on their feet without sparing a second thought.

I believe this love comes from the people that we are and the religion that we have followed in the past. Many of us are still Christians. Apparently their are still forty four percent of New Zealanders that relate to the Christian religion as of the 2018 census. But given that there was such national outpouring of love for the families of the Christchurch Shooting victims. A lot of people are living a Christian life but denying the power. Why would you do that? What is the point of being a good or a righteous person if your life has no real point. Nothing to give you hope. If you believe that this is it. You’re going to be along time dead. You know the the drama. We’ve all heard it.

Well have I got good news for you. This isn’t all there is! Jesus loves you with all of his great and Godly heart and he has plans for you. In the Old Testament the Prophet Jeremiah says this about you “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11.

My friends, Jesus loves you and wants to bring you into his family as his personal brothers and sisters. He has paid the price for your sins by taking the weight of them on the cross shedding his sinless blood as God’s only begotten Son to cleanse them away forever (1Peter 2:24). So if you believe on him you will be free of sin and have eternal life (John 3:16).

Now, I know that Christians get a bad wrap when it comes to being at times less than welcoming and quite judgemental. Hence all the discourse among secularists about the need for anti-hate speech legislation and to muzzle Christians for being anti homosexual, anti women’s rights and in short just plain discriminatory. Please believe me when I tell you that Jesus Christ the only begotten Son of God is welcoming to everyone and loves all of us. Imagine Jesus as the Son of Man standing facing you with his arms outstretched and a welcoming and loving smile on his face. Saying “Come unto me all ye who are heavy laden and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28

He would negotiate your freedom as he did with the woman who was brought to him to for committing adultery who the authorities were about to stone and they sought to trap Jesus in judging her. What did he say? “Let him who is without sin cast the first stone.” When the woman’s accusers walked away one by one. He then said to her “Woman, where are those thine accusers? Has no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said to her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.” John 8: 10-11

Jesus always said those five words to those he healed or helped as they interacted with him “Go and sin no more.” But his love was unwavering and his compassion as deep as an ocean. Jesus of Nazareth the only begotten Son of Jehovah loves you. He has plans for you to prosper you not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future. Won’t you turn aside from your path. Turn aside from the arduous journey that is your life. Won’t you listen for a moment to the King of Kings who created you and does not want you to perish in your sins. To Jesus Christ the Son of Man, the Son of God, who took the sins of a lost mankind on his shoulders on the Cross at Calvary. Who shed his sinless blood for you. Who would say to you believe on me unto eternal life and go and sin no more.
You should know that Jesus is “The way, the truth and the life and that no man comes to the father but through him.” John 14:6. You should also know that “There is none righteous not even one.” Romans 3:10. “For all have sinned and all fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23 and “... the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6.23. So don’t feel judged by your fellow man, be he Christian or not because we all fall short of Gods glory. Each and every one of us and the wages of our sin is death. That is what we deserve but Jesus loves us and so the freely given gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord.

My dear friends. God so loved you that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes on Him shall not perish but will inherit eternal life. John 3:16. So won’t you ask him to forgive your sins and come into your heart so that you might receive forgiveness for your sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit in your life. Acts 2:38. Please give this plea your utmost consideration.

My God bless you and keep you. May he touch your heart that when you hear him knock you might ask him to come in and receive his gift of eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

There's a Storm Coming

What a tumultuous couple of weeks. A terrorist attack in New Zealand. A change of focus on who perpetrates terror in this World. The endorsement of a Papal Covenant between the two greatest religious organisations of all time. Police carrying weapons full time in New Zealand. All of this talk about hate speech and the Deputy Prime Minister being called to stand down for his comments about Islam in the past. The World Religion in our Parliament.
Then the questions? Why a change from Islam to Far Right Terror? What are the ramifications of the agreement between Catholicism and Islam? Why do Police need to carry weapons full time? Why this sudden clamp down on freedom of speech? What is the World Religion?

I would put forward that there was never Islamic Terror in the first place. The Al Qaeda movement and the Isis movement were both funded by government sources. The West had a hand in it and obviously Saudi Arabia were almost openly supportive of these two Sunni Islamic groups. Oh they may not have acknowledged it publicly but the connections were not deeply buried. Then there was Iran and the Shia groups of the Taliban and Hezbollah locked in conflict with the West and Israel. These are not really terrorist groups they are actually well resourced Commando Armies.

On the other hand we have Far Right Fascism which to a large extent is only a populist group. Certainly after World War Two they could have been considered an army but these days the more militaristic part of the organisation is embedded in the global economy and the guys on the coal face tend to be isolated extremists. There is little doubt that the rise of Islam will galvanise the resolve of the Far Right and I doubt there is much the government can do to stop that should they genuinely attempt to douse the flames. So it is reasonably certain that there will be more unrest in our immediate future.
I think the ramifications of the Covenant between Catholicism and Islam will see an immediate increase in the immigration of Islam through out the West. Especially, given that there was a huge displacement of Muslim people from Syria into Europe in recent years. It follows that those people are looking to settle around the West. So, with the new agreement rebranding Islam as friend rather than foe. Why not Australia or New Zealand as a new homeland for this displaced peoples? Just musing here.

And of course with all of this immigration the freedom of speech was always going to be a liability. Islam is not known for its tolerance toward other religions and fascism is the response of the disenfranchised in Christian nations toward other faiths perceived to be benefiting at the expense of the majority. Therefore it is important for the media and authorities to control the language that is permitted in society about Islam and of course other secular minorities. Hence the almost draconian move to call out anyone that speaks against the current excessively positive rhetoric about the Christchurch shootings.

The Police in New Zealand are now armed at all times. This was supposedly for a short time while we are on a high alert status for more terror. However, it appears that with each new small event the Police may well extend the period of arms carrying. So, if every few days the Police dig up a new lead to terror will they continue to carry arms? It begs the question “What is going on here behind the scenes?” Is a period of totalitarian rule beginning in our little piece of paradise? Is freedom of speech under threat with anyone who questions the motives of those in power now going to be under the scrutiny of the law. Is this the new normal in New Zealand? I hope not.

I’m seeing a lot rhetoric in the media about a range of religious issues. Yoga in all it’s guises is at epidemic proportions and is in essence pure Buddhist teaching as is meditation or mindfulness. Martial Arts are also incredibly popular and involve mind control techniques. Of course Islam is being promoted as the religion of peace and tolerance which you don’t have to do much research on it to find that, that claim is possibly stretching the definition somewhat. Paganism is everywhere and nowhere is it stronger than in the constant barrage of Marvel Universe movies and the trailers that are plastered across the screens of the nations televisions. Religious change is now almost continuous in this time as is the move away from Christianity.

My friends, a time of change is upon us as we witness the rapid demise of Christianity globally and the ascension of every other type of religion. In the bible II Thessalonians chapter two verse three says this “Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition...” Thus this rather depressing falling away has to come for the end of the age to come and for our Lord Jesus Christ to return.

Now, as I said earlier in this piece. I’m just musing and these are simply the best guesses of an aging Christian skeptic given the facts as I perceive them. If you watch the media you’ll notice lots of clues that added together suggest something is coming. There is little doubt, in my mind, that these are the last days of this age but the other assertions that I have made are just that, assertions. Food for thought. I think “A Storm is Coming.”

What Just Happened...

The Christchurch Mosques Shooting has been a watershed moment in the history of New Zealand. The nation showcased what a true secular liberal democracy should be in the face a terror event which targeted the most vulnerable ethnic group in that society. There was an outpouring of love for the families of the victims of the most heinous kind of hate crime that anyone could perpetrate. The whole country pulled together to wrap around the Muslim community and to show that we love and support them regardless of what may have happened in the past. It was a truly laudable effort.

From a Christian perspective the response to the shootings was classic “Love Your Neighbor as You Love Yourself.” Which is exactly the response that was required and everyone in the country was completely in accord with that. We Kiwi don’t stand on ceremony. It doesn’t matter who you are we’ll take you in and do our best to get you back on your feet. It might not be popular to say so but that comes from the Christian values that were so strong in this land through the twentieth century.

Of concern to Christians in particular was the decision of the Government to invite an Interfaith group to pray as strangers on the floor of the Debating Chamber with the Members of Parliament. Then subsequent to this, as a part of a national prayer vigil, Imam Nizam ul haq Thanvi was asked to deliver a call to prayer. The call to prayer is well known to anyone familiar with Islam and includes the statement “There is no god but Allah, Muhammad is the messenger of God.” I’m sure this is probably of little consequence to people of a secular liberal background. However, to Christians this is something we never thought to see in New Zealand and certainly not with so little warning.

When the current Government came into power the speaker made a decision to omit the name of Jesus Christ from the daily opening prayer and the Prime Minister Ms. Ardern did not use the Holy Bible at her swearing in ceremony. Now lets face it Protestant Christianity is not the bastion it once was in this country so when the government makes these kinds of decision we can only see them as the writing on the wall and accept them with some sadness and regret as we contemplate what it means for the future. We were probably thinking that the separation of Church and State was being the likely driving force? But when an Interfaith group consisting of representatives from Islamic, Jewish, Buddhist, Sikh, Hindu, Rātana, Catholic, Anglican and Presbyterian faiths and churches is invited to pray in the parliament of our once Christian nation. What are we to think? On top of this incredible turn of events an Imam is to deliver the call to prayer from Parliament for a national vigil. One is led to ask “What just happened here?”

I would propose that three major events played out through the Mosque Shootings.
  1. The new global terror is Far Right Extremism.
  2. The New World Religion entered the Global Arena in the NZ Parliament.
  3. Pope Francis’s peace accord with Islam was officially showcased to the World.
So what are the ramifications from this very public introduction of these three global policies. Already the Far Right are in the media if in a relatively insignificant way with Mosques in Birmingham England receiving external damage from a man with a sledge hammer. Far Right are the aggressor and as in Christchurch, Muslim are the victims. It would seem that a change is being affected in the media.

The ramifications of the New World Religion entering the New Zealand Parliament are going to be far more significant than it would at first seem from what happened over the Mosque Shootings. Basically it hails the end of the separation of Church and State. From here on we are going to see a lot more of the New World Religion Interfaith teams intervening in Western Democracies and in World events globally at the highest level. Admittedly, I think they’ll start small as the launch of the New World Religion isn’t scheduled until next year along with the roll out of the New World Order (Global Government).

The peace accord between the Catholic Church and Islam means that Islam and Catholicism are now side by side even in the Western Democracies. For the Catholic Church this is the fruition of five hundred years of hard work by the Jesuits to finally bring down the domination of the Protestant Church and open the door for Church and State to become one again. It would doubtless please Rome to be able to enact Papal annates on the many Protestant territories that haven’t paid them for centuries if in the case of various colonies, ever. To put it succinctly Rome is back and by Rome I mean pagan Rome.

We are witnessing the reversal of Constantine’s Christianising of Pagan Rome. Interfaith brings Buddhism, Christianity, Confucianism, Hindu, Islam, Judaism, Shinto, Sikhism, Taoism and Zoroastrianism into a global world religion. This is fulfillment of centuries of work behind the scenes of organisations like the Theosophical Society and the Lucis Trust who have been working quietly to promote a return to paganism. Although Christianity has joined this movement they are not in general bible believing Christians and will accept the Pope as head of the Church and the coming New World Order. We are witnessing the paganisation of Christianity and the return of the Dark Ages. In Short the end of the Age of Grace.

My advice to bible believing Christians is keep your head down unless you feel called by Jehovah to do otherwise. Don’t write angry and insulting letters to the prime minister or whatever other radical things you were contemplating. This is the End Time and these things must take place before the Son of Man will return. Matthew 24:6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. KJV The real focus of the Remnant is to get the gospel out there, live right and pray with all of your being for the good of the Church and an outpouring of the Holy Spirit of God.

So Remember live holy, and preach John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” KJV Lets win those souls to Jesus Christ! God Bless you all in these the last days. Come Quickly Lord Jesus.

Don't Look At ME...

I ended up having the conversation again this morning. The one that says you’re a Christian and you have the worst attitude toward someone we all know. The conversation that says “There you are splashing articles about Faith on Social Media and pretending to be Super Christian.” My response is “I already know that I’m not a good Christian.” “Far from it in fact.”

Actually I’m the analyst and the critic and in world where people have heard a constant diatribe of positivity and they don’t take criticism well, at all. If you want to make someone frown then critique their work. They generally don’t want to hear it these days. There is no great appetite for reality when it applies to individual achievement.

Back to Christianity and me. I’m unchurched. I have never in my life as a Christian, about fifty three years, spent more than a couple of years devoting time to Church. Two of those years were as a youngster at Boarding School. I loved that time because the denomination was Anglican and the pastor was a man called Cannon Sergal who was a lovely Christian man with a vast knowledge of the bible. He could weave good sermons based on personal experience and theological knowledge.

The rest of the time I could never find somewhere that I fit. As an analyst I tend to be opinionated and I am also quite a political character. I always felt I’d cause mayhem and so I steered clear. I guess there is an element of the half converted to me as well. I tend to have a rich use of the English language at times and I don’t think the fine sensibilities of the good Christian folk in Churches would cope with me. Then it would only be a matter of time until I upset someone and ended up getting thrown out of the establishment. Therefore I haven’t worried with the notion of being a great Church goer. Most Christians would say that God expects me to go to Church and they are right but I don’t so there we have it.

What is comes down to is the reason that I splash my Christianity on Social Media and where ever else that I can is not because of my being such a fine Christian. It is because I have faith in the one living God. Jehovah Elohim. That faith informs me that the only thing that matters in this life is the decision that every person that is alive today will make about God. So it comes down to either accepting God or rejecting God. Choose salvation in the redemptive work Jesus Christ on the cross and his payment for your sin debt and receive eternal life. Or! Reject the redemptive work of Jesus Christ and suffer the eternal fire and the second death.

So I’d love to be a fine Christian and all but I’m not. That’s not the point. The point is:

WHERE WILL YOU SPEND YOUR ETERNITY ???

Testimony

When I was four years old I remember walking down the tanker track toward the farm dairy, one summer day, with my older brother and my Dad. My brother was sixteen and had recently become a Christian. He was newly converted, full of enthusiasm and curiosity about God’s word and doctrines. They were talking animatedly about Christian things and Dad was explaining something to him.

After all of these years. It was nineteen sixty four after all. I can’t remember exactly what the conversations were all about. The two of them seemed to really enjoy talking about Christianity and Dad seemed very knowledgeable about the bible and very willing to support Douglas in his walk as a young believer. I used to tag along with them to listen in and one time I asked Dad if he believed in Jesus. He said that he did and I said “I believe in Jesus too.” That was when I first believed. I’ve been a believer in Jesus Christ ever since. Never missed a day. This is a precious memory because Dad passed away only three years later in nineteen sixty seven.

It just shows how important sharing your faith is as a Christian. You never know who will be touched by the Holy Spirit and brought into the family of God because of you testimony. Even your own children can be reached without your ever meaning to win them to Christ. Your personal witness is such a powerful tool in the service of God.

Dad was a good father and a good farmer but wouldn’t have been remembered for his strong Christian witness necessarily. However, when he earnestly shared his faith and knowledge with his children. He was able to help one son go on to a life of commitment to winning souls to Jesus Christ and the other son (me). He won to Christ. Not a bad effort all in all.
Testimony folks. It’s what it’s all about.

Reach the Lost

In this time Christianity is almost mirroring the World. Politics is becoming increasingly divided and polarized and so is the Church. Whe...
