Denominational Distrust

Because we in the Protestant Evangelical Church have so many denominations we tend to distrust each other. The evil one has exploited this weakness attacking the very skepticism that we hold toward other believers.
The gifts movement versus the anti-holy-spirit sects. The mainline versus the evangelical movements. The King James Bible movement versus the New Translation people. The ecumenical movement versus the conservative protestants. Meanwhile, the enemy has torn the Protestant Movement to shreds portraying Christianity to a secular world as the weak pondering of a people looking for a crutch that doesn’t even exist.

I have wondered why there are no great leaders like Spurgeon or Moody in our time to sound the alarm and call the faithful to arms. We’re still here you know. The faithful that is. So, therein lies the answer. There are millions of beautiful people who what ever their flavor of Protestantism. Regardless of what may seem to the other flavors as antichrist or false doctrine. Millions of believers in Jesus of Nazareth.

Now if the Rapture happens before the the Tribulation begins in earnest. All who believe in Jesus Christ will be removed from the time of testing. My belief is that those who are in Churches but haven’t been genuinely converted will slowly come to the realisation that the Maitreya is not the Christian Messiah but antichrist. They will convert to Christ Jesus and become the Church in the Tribulation.

Even if the Rapture doesn’t happen until the middle of the Tribulation or after the Tribulation. I know I’m provoking the ire of end times theologians by saying this. True believers where ever they are found will come together as that great Church of Jesus Christ in the Tribulation period.

This is the time when the Church is weak but remember God delights in bringing victory from weakness. Remember in the time of the Judges that Gideon 1. brought victory to Israel with only a handful of men selected by God. That blind Samson 2. killed the nobles of the Philistines. That in the time of the Kings of Israel that God used Jonathon 3. and his armor bearer to rout the Philistines. That David 4. as a mere shepherd boy killed Goliath the mightiest warrior of the Philistines. That Paul 5. had a thorn in the flesh that made him weak and yet God used him to take the gospel to the whole pagan world.

So out of weakness in our time God will bring a great harvest of souls in the name of his son, Jesus Christ. In this end time he will bring victory to the host of God and defeat the enemy, sin and death forever. Out of weakness Jehovah makes perfect strength through faith in Jesus Christ.

Who do you say I am...

Matthew 16:13 When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?” 14 They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” 15 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”

So there is no doubt who Jesus Christ was in the mind of Simon Peter and there is no doubt in my mind as to who Jesus Christ is and what to expect of him as the only begotten Son of God. He is the Messiah, the Lamb of God and the Savior of the World. The Prince of Peace.

So, who do you say I am? I don’t know if many people know me, much less, could make a pronouncement about who I am. Some would say I am not a Christian. Others, that I am not a very good Christian. Others still, that I don’t go to church and that I haven’t brought my family to know Jesus of Nazareth.

The reality. I am a Christian but not a very good one. I don’t fellowship at a Church. My children do know of Jesus Christ but the example I have set to them has not set all of them on a path toward God. I won’t justify any of my failings. I know there are many and the devil reminds of most of them as often as I will listen. Except, perhaps, to say that crowds of people are not my favorite thing and I don’t think anyone would miss not hearing my opinions about life or, cherish having me as part of their Church.

I am not brave enough to be an apostle or a missionary. I couldn’t share the gospel with a single person. So I pray for as many as I can and take up the battle as a keyboard warrior for God. Now, I’m not writing and posting on the web to condemn you or to put you down. Far from it I wish you only the best of God’s love and hope that you might find him to be the best Father in Heaven in your life.

I once heard the story of a man who like me could not speak of Jesus of Nazareth with others. So he sought God and purposed to pray for the lost and to say a short phrase to them. He prayed and then approached people in the street and said “Where will you spend your eternity?” Some years later the pastor of a particular Church asked how those who were present had come to know the Lord. Several people stood up and spoke of how a man had come up to them and asked “Where will you spend your eternity?” They recounted how that brief encounter had opened their eyes and hearts to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and, how that moment had led to their eventual salvation.

You see I don’t care who you say that I am. I know I’m nothing but a sinner who doesn’t deserve the mercy that a loving Creator God has given him. If you look at me closely then prepare to be disappointed. My only thought is for your eternal destiny and that it would be salvation in Jesus Christ the only begotten Son of God.

I’m not perfect, not even close...

I am a Christian but I am not perfect not even close. I’ll give you an example. I have my family living with me. I’m European and some of my family are Māori. Now I am not racist in spirit but I am racist in the flesh. So as a Christian I am not racist but as a man I am. I was brought up to believe ideals that would have been considered moderate at the time but would be seen as racism today.

Now I have managed to keep the lid on that fleshly attitude most of the time. However, you only have to slip up once and you are remembered for that worst time no matter how rare or brief. It does incalculable damage to the hearts of loved ones and destroys relationships.

Another example is that recently a member of the extended family has come back into the fold. The immediate whanau are concerned for this young person and want to bring him to live in our home. This situation has provided a real challenge to my spiritual walk. This youngster has a number of behaviors that bring the old racism to the surface.

In addition to this situation I have begun to get my Christian walk back on track so the evil one is using this event to tear down my witness. I have also begun to see that our family has drifted in a certain direction for a long time. I have put up with this state of affairs thinking that people who aren’t saved in our family will eventually see our goodness and accept the gospel. Just wishful thinking.

So I’ve moved to the ideal that people need to accept the gospel. This is because a divided house will never prosper. We need to have a bottom line and there needs to be certain outcomes to indicate we are in the right place and moving in the right direction. Namely unsaved people coming to faith. Otherwise there is nothing more we can do for them. This thinking although it is accurate has led to confrontation.

Now, I realise that God has a plan and that much of what I have said above is because I’m not waiting on God. Impatience breeds frustration and frustration leads to rash actions which are usually based in the flesh. So the solution to this problem is found in prayer, tolerance and love. It is important to wait on God.

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future....” NIV

Prioritising: The freedom to think and do...

I’m a relief teacher at high school. Occasionally I encounter a youngster that gets a bit abusive toward me. I can get a bit angry and give a bit back but in the back of my mind is often the thought that I come from a house with food in the cupboard and my car has fuel in the tank. It is not infrequently the case that these young people don’t have much wealth in their lives. Which tempers my attitude.

I love to think and write about Creation and our arch enemy Darwinism. I have my pet subjects End Times Prophecy and the work of the Catholic Church against Protestantism. I love to preach scripture relating to the life of Jesus Christ and Salvation but I often forget to mention how blessed I am that I have more than enough wealth to get by and I have a beautiful family that gives me great joy. That I have a wonderful father in heaven who gives me the best of lives and the sound understanding that I am saved and will be raised to immortality by Jesus Christ in the fullness of his timing.

I was looking for information about the dubious science of the big bang the other day. I came across an article which spoke of a group of scientists who visited the Creation Museum. They went there as a bit of a lark but were so moved by what they saw that they were apparently brought to tears that their precious evolution could be so distorted by the Creationists. 1. Crocodile tears? Quite probably. Now they know how we Creationists feel all the time when see the antediluvian fossil layer interpreted as billions of years of evolution and death. First World Problems? Definitely.

My point here is that this freedom to think is only possible in this society where we have full cupboards and reliable transport. Where we have the time to worry about things that wouldn’t rate a mention in the poorer parts of our society much less in third world countries where there is little food, where there is sickness and disease and abject poverty. Priorities change when even the basics are often unattainable. When seeing our children grow up is not a given. When the length of a life is pitifully short. When countless millions of people are cast aside by the rich elites of distant countries and their corporations. Where war can sweep away all that we know, cherish and love.

When I think of how much freedom I have, I can’t help but feel more than a little ashamed when I think of those beautiful youngsters that I relief teach. When I watch documentaries about the work of missionaries amongst the needy in countries overseas. When I read of the persecution of the Christian Church in many countries around the world. In my life to date such things have not held a high priority and I hate to say it but I haven’t done much for even the poor in my own city. I feel my priorities need a timely rejig.

What about you my friends. Do you realise the freedom that you have in this wonderful country of New Zealand today. You know I think that we may be on the verge of losing that wonderful freedom. Things are changing rapidly. We have many new people settling in our land and this will bring a change to our culture and to our political landscape. In a few short decades I perceive that this beautiful country will be a very different place. It is worth considering that we are a part of the Oceania region and that region is destined to be ultimately Asian.

Admittedly, this truth brings opportunity. It gives the Lord Jehovah a new field in which to sew the gospel but there will also be challenges and one of those may be less freedom to share our faith. We may yet begin to value our freedom more keenly as we feel the wrath of persecution that often comes when a nation turns its back on God. This to a large extent is where we find ourselves as we approach the third decade of the twenty first century. New Zealand is on the verge of falling back into paganism. To avoid this the people of this land need to turn back to Jehovah and his only son, Jesus Christ, before it is too late.

II Chronicles 7:13 If I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among My people, 14 and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

This scripture relates specifically to the nation of Israel but I believe that the truth it contains can be applied to other lands who come under judgement from the Most High. If New Zealand can be brought to a place where she will humble herself and pray and seek the face of God. Then he will hear her voice and forgive her sins and bring healing to the land. But I wonder if we will need to come under intense persecution to bring this situation about.

Jesus said in John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. And In John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. If you have not made a decision for Jesus Christ yet please ask him to forgive your sins and to come into your life today.

If you are already saved. Is it time for you, as it is for me, to reconsider your priorities and to put the poor and the needy ahead of our first world issues. There is much to be done and much we can do to help others. Perhaps for the believer it is a matter of listening to the quiet voice of the Holy Spirit in the depth of our hearts.

But for the Lack of Love

I Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing. NASB

People are such messed up creations. I guess you can say that life is difficult but some folks have a life that seems so blessed and others have life which seems so difficult. You know, the child who is born to a prosperous farming family in New Zealand versus the child born in war torn South Sudan who has nothing, is hungry and poor, lives in fear of militants and could be dead tomorrow. Yet both children struggle to live life without getting messed up by what it deals out to them. Both struggle not to be impacted by pride, envy, malice, jealousy, grief, abuse, addiction and a host of other powerful emotions and actual physical conditions that they encounter on their journey. These experiences shape their characters and the people that they become. It impacts the way that they view life and how they deal with those in their lives.

So we all grow up and develop issues. We can have a chip on our shoulder about our parents, our siblings, our social life, the family vehicle and any manner of things which are really not that important. Satan is a master at getting human beings twisted up inside about things that don’t matter but will steer them away from those who love them and God.

Every one of us has an angel that is tasked to help us and who loves us unfailingly but if we of our on volition decide to go toward the enemy they can’t stop us or help us if it is against our will. So the enemy elements tasked with disabling us and leading us into bondage to the devil can lead us to our literal destruction and that is their goal. If it is also inline with our will then the forces of Jehovah can only stand by and sadly watch. Unless you call on the name of the Lord in which case they can immediately move to assist us.

This brings us to the Lords word on the question of the greatest commandments. Matthew 22:36-40 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37 And He said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the great and foremost commandment. 39 The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets. NASB

The simplest way to straighten out a human being is found in these two commandments. ‘Love the Lord with all of your heart’ and ‘Love your neighbor as you yourself.’ If you obey Jehovah and love him you will see that he loves you without limit. Nothing is beyond him and he can bring the stability, peace and love into your life that you need. This through Jesus Christ his only begotten Son and through the indwelling Holy Spirit.

If you obey the Lord and love your neighbor as you love yourself then you find that you are not the center of the universe. People are the most important thing to God and we have a task to show his love to them. To lead them to Jehovah through Jesus and to help them as much as we can. Like God without limit. A community filled with God’s love has peace, stability and love. Children are brought up in sanity to the realisation that others are as important as they are. Doors are unlocked and boundaries are respected in love. The law of God’s love is the most important thing.

As Christians this is of paramount importance. There are theological understandings that lead Christians to pull back from other Christians. The controversy over speaking in tongues and healing is a case in point. There is no doubt that there is occult sourced mediumistic tongues and healing that is very dangerous and should be avoided. But should not be feared and should not lead bible believing Christians to be timid in dealing with these groups. Obviously we need to be prayerful about any interactions where the enemy is at work in the Church. We also need to seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit and be prepared to move forward not hide away from them.

My point is that the Church is in decline in this time but there are still bible believing Christians out in the various denominations. Anyone who proclaims the gospel of salvation is our brother or sister in Jesus Christ.

Now the problem that we have which is the legacy of dividing into sects or denominations is that we mistrust each other. We might say to ourselves I’m a Baptist and I don’t trust people in the traditional churches. The Anglican, Methodist or Presbyterian Churches. Some are so extreme that they say that folk in those churches are not even saved.

There are those on either side of the Gifts and Speaking in Tongues issue. Some distrust the adherents to that doctrine and others distrust those who shun that doctrine. I’m not saying that there isn’t sound reason to question the doctrine.

As the apostle Peter said in II Peter 2:1 But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves. NASB

I am saying that at this time the Church is beginning to become the Christian remnant. Bible believing true believers are to be found in all Churches but gone are the days when everyone who attends a Protestant Church is saved. So a true believer is the brother or sister who proclaims that Jesus of Nazareth died on the cross for our sins. That the father raised him from the dead on the third day. The true believer has asked Jesus to forgive their sins and to come into their heart and is now reborn and walking in repentance indwelt by the Holy Spirit of God. Such a person is our brother or sister in Christ Jesus.

We need to reach out to these people where ever they are and in fellowship as fellow believers in Jesus Christ We should offer our love and acceptance to them. If there are doctrinal issues we should commend them to Jehovah in Jesus name and allow God to correct them. If we can we should confront those errors but not in a destructive and hateful way. For together we are a chosen nation and a royal priesthood a people belonging to God. Wherever we are found.

I Peter2:9 “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light...”

So the most important thing to love one another as you would have them to love you.

I Corinthians 13:13 But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Of Sects and Gospel Preached

Luke 15:10 "In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents." NASB

I think that every era of the Age of Grace must have had its issues. One of the biggest issues in the Reformation age has been the propensity of Christians to move off into different sects and then proceed to compete with each other for new converts.
This has led many away from God because of the contradictions and hypocrisy that it has engendered. Nothing hurts other believers more than being slapped down by the pious for perceived misdemeanors against a denominations unexplained code of conduct. When viewed in the plain light of day it can only be the work of an enemy.

I’m not saying here that the Roman Catholic Church is the Bible Believing Christian Church of Jesus of Nazareth. It is not! What I am saying is that if you believe that “God so loved you that he gave his only son Jesus Christ for you and that having believed on him, You shall not perish but inherit eternal life.” The you are a member of the Church - The Bride of Christ.

Your connection to your brothers and sisters in Christ is through the indwelling Holy Spirit who reveals the nature of Jesus Christ in you. Your mission is to carry the seed of the gospel to as many who don’t possess it as you can and the World and its rulers will not thank you for your work.

As to the denomination that you subscribe to, it will likely be covered in the letters of Paul and the Messages to the Churches from our Lord Jesus in Revelation. There will be wonderful strengths in your Church and beautiful people who are Christ with us. There will also be weaknesses in the form of false apostles, false prophets, apostasy and wrong teaching. The devil may well be in the midst of your bible believing congregation.

Your defense is the Word of God, the Full Armor of God and prayer in the Holy Spirit. For as the author of Hebrews tells us in “Hebrews 4:12-13....the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.” NASB

The Full Armour of God and Prayer in the Spirit are described in “Ephesians 6 verses 10-18 “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. 14 Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints...” NASB

My personal admonition to you in this late stage in the Age of Grace is that we hark back to the first century and the times of the early Church. That we consider ourselves members of the Church of Jesus of Nazareth - The Bride of Christ. Further that we look upon anyone who proclaims the gospel of salvation in Jesus Christ to be our brother or sister in Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 5:25-27 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26 to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, 27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. A Question of Stance

We live in a world where politics is key. Are you left wing or right? Are you capitalist or communist? Of course we really care about this. It is as I said key. But is it really as important as we are conditioned to believe? Lets look a little closer at this topic and see if we can shed a little light.

What I’m asking here is our stance really going to influence the status quo? I have had friends who have swapped their political allegiance rather quickly after a change of fortune. They were strong left wing socialists who were all about improving the lot of the working class. Then due to a windfall and change of circumstance became strong right wing capitalists.

It is seemingly possible to move between the systems of government as well. In the old Soviet Union many senior Communist Party members were able to retain their power by aligning themselves with the new corporate elite that rose into power in Russia after the decline of communism in the late nineteen eighties.

So if the elite are always the elite regardless of which system is being used and the top civil servants stay in place regardless of whether the political left or right are in government. Does it actually make and difference to outcomes for the general population which power block they vote with.

Obviously my question is framed around whether we have any influence on politics at all or has the idea of democracy been circumvented by the clever analysis from the elite. Such that the people think they have some control over their destiny but in actual fact they have none. So that the same people decide what happens regardless of the outcomes of elections.

What I’m wondering as a Christian is are we better to simply abstain from politics and focus on getting the gospel out there. If you can change the heart of the nation you stand a better chance of influencing the direction of society. A nation that prays to Jehovah and his only Son, Yeshua, is a nation that sees the influence of the Holy Spirit.

We can achieve much more if we serve the living God. SO, to me it all boils down to John 3:16 “For God so love the world (You), that he gave his only Son, Jesus Christ (Yeshua), that whoever believes on Him will have eternal life.

Women: We’re Free... Yeh!

I hear lots of secular talk in the media at the moment. The Minister for Women here in New Zealand wants there to be 50 percent men and women on public sector boards by 2021. Sounds good doesn’t it. I mean there’s nothing wrong with equality for women.

There’s also nothing wrong with women being in the top jobs. They are as capable as any man in any job. However, are working class women getting a better deal? Women have been educated to put themselves first and that means they have the right to be in the work force. They now work harder than they ever have and the impact on their children is that they spend hours a day in the care of strangers.

Fifty years ago their family could have been supported on only one wage but today struggles to survive on two incomes. The economy adjusted to meet the new state of affairs and without realizing it we as a society have been fooled into thinking that women have equality and are liberated. When they now have no choice but to work. How is that equality or emancipation?

I wouldn’t class myself as a hard worker. I’ve long theorized that most of the time thinking smart is more efficient than brute force. I have to be honest though that at the right old age of fifty seven I’d sooner be retired and able to follow my own interests and pursuits. Sadly this is not to be and honestly I don’t know that I’ll be able to retire before I die.

Thing is when the secular humanist crowd pushed the idea to women that they needed to be freed from the dominance of men. I’m pretty sure they didn’t talk much about the pressure of having to be in the work force until they are sixty five. The drag of not seeing your children when you want to. The pain of managing child care and explaining why you need to take the day off because your child is sick. The guilt of sending sick children to school because you don’t have any more sick leave or annual leave left.

I know that mens attitudes to women needed to change and it’s fair to say that women are now participating more in society. That’s a good thing because it gives them more security and rights as citizens in that society. But when emancipation results in you working harder to make ends meet for the rest of your life. Is that really emancipation or is that slavery?

I just want to restate that a marriage used to only need one wage and now it needs two wages. Even then there are working poor where both spouses are working one or more jobs each and still not making ends meat. Things just haven’t turned out the way the secular humanists advertised that they would. Where’s our Utopian Dream?
Personally  I smell a rat here. Call me a conspiracy theorist. There that feels better doesn’t it? But I seriously wonder if the number crunchers and spin doctors of old, haven’t foreseen how all of this freedom and emancipation was really going to turn out. I’m being skeptical I know but I think this secular humanism stuff was developed to control the people not to set them free. I mean if you’re working hard you don’t have time to notice that you’re not getting ahead as well as you used too. If you haven’t time to spare you haven’t time to complain. So while you’re preoccupied which schemes of the powers that be are being fast tracked under the radar.

Certainly the right to free speech is being curbed. The world is being made a much more politically correct place so you can’t say what you think. All of these other secular groups are using every opportunity to take your slice of the pie by any means possible. Alls fair in love and war they say. You’re a feminist so you’re not in the LGBT and that makes you a competitor.

There’s only so much funding available so a secular group has to do what it has to do. Which also means that the elite can use the good old divide and conquer strategy to keep everyone pitted against each other. Meanwhile they can do what ever they purpose to do with the government and the resources. Starting to see the bigger picture or are you still not ready to give up on the old secular humanist agenda just yet.

Well that’s fine. I’m a Christian you see so I’m most concerned with the attack on morality and the damage being done to the Church by secularists trying to discredit the Bible and Christianity in general. That doesn’t mean that I don’t think that women should be free to participate in society as equals with men. For instance the bible asks wives to be subject to their husbands but tells husbands to love their wives as they love themselves. If you love someone as you love yourself you will deny them nothing because you will deny yourself nothing. Which really equates to equality doesn't it?

Jesus always treated women with compassion and understanding and with the utmost respect. It could be said that the women who followed him were the most important people in his life. They took care of his burial preparations and were the first to see him after he was resurrected. This obviously has meaning and is a message to Christian men to treat women with respect and as equals. That’s how I have always seen it in any case.

My message to women is be a feminist by all means but take a good look at Christianity, the Bible and Gospel of Jesus of Nazareth. When Jesus spoke to the Samaritan woman he spoke of giving her water from which she would never thirst. The water of eternal life through Jesus himself.

John chapter 4 verses 7 through 14

7When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, “Will you give me a drink?” 8(His disciples had gone into the town to buy food.) 9The Samaritan woman said to him, “You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?” (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.a ) 10Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.” 11“Sir,” the woman said, “you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water? 12Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his livestock?” 13Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, 14but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” NIV
