To Rock the Boat... Or Not.

I’m not a person to ‘rock the boat’ believe it or not. I’d far sooner keep a low profile and just avoid any controversy. So being a Christian and trying to share the gospel and various truths that the bible contains. Well that’s not my normal way of interacting and I’d just as soon not go there.

Now if you’re close to me you’re aware of my numerous attempts to share things Christian. You’re probably thinking ‘Yeah Right.’ But I can assure you I do this thing which is against my way of being because of three things. Duty, Love and Jesus Christ in my heart.

Duty comes as a result of the faith I have in Jesus and the works that result from being a a Christian and having the holy spirit in my heart. 1) The apostle James put it like this. James 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. KJV
Love is a fruit of the Holy Spirit and comes, again, from the spirit revealing the nature of Jesus Christ in me. 2) The bible says this; Galatians 5: 22-23 ‘But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Interestingly the New Living Translation adds this to Galatians 5:22 ‘But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives...’

Now this love that the Holy Spirit produces in my heart in this case causes me to share the gospel and all things Christian with other people how ever I can. For me the easiest way is with text. I’m not a big conversationalist especially about controversial topics being an introvert at heart. Hence I share most things in print.

Finally Jesus gave us the great commission. 3) Matthew 28: 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”…

So Jesus Christ in our lives means taking the gospel to the whole world making disciples of all the nations and baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. So I really don’t have much choice. I am a Christian and being shy is not a reason to make no effort to be obedient to Jesus Christ, Lord of Lords and King of Kings. The Prince of Peace and God with us. Come Lord Jesus. Amen.

New Zealand: A bastion of progressive liberalism

Recently I’ve noticed that the left progressive liberal cartel are scare mongering about white supremacy in our little kiwi paradise of Aotearoa. A story of racism was even spread across the front page of our little local newspaper and as an article in it’s bigger parent. A happening that wouldn’t have eventuated in New Zealand in the past but is the herald of rapidly changing times in the present.

The President of the United States is being held up as lightning rod of white supremacy as well. 1) Really he is a part of a much bigger picture that involves a great deal of social engineering from a group which has been called ‘The Faceless Men.’ I think it would be fair to say that in the United States President Obama represented a galvanising agent to coalesce the left and President Trump is the galvanising agent to bring the right together. 2) One can only assume that a conflict awaits America at some point in the near future.

Commentators have spoken about the move to control what we are allowed to talk about in daily life. What is socially acceptable so to speak. 3) Noam Chomsky described it this way in his book ‘The Common Good’. “The smart way to keep people passive and obedient is to strictly limit the spectrum of acceptable opinion, but allow very lively debate within that spectrum....” We see this happening daily in New Zealand in media programming like TVNZ Breakfast and TV3’s The Project. An example of this is that they are unanimously against every opinion the current US President expounds.

On another secular issue they are totally supportive of the LGBT’s gender discussion and pillory anyone who holds a conservative or Christian viewpoint about those issues. There are various other subjects where they put forward the acceptable viewpoint, such as, atheism, feminism, euthanasia, the environment, Te Reo Māori, the liberal view on prison sentencing and release and generally speaking humanism. 3a) They strictly control what the people are allowed to say and there are now actual consequences of defying that control. 3b) Recently a Canadian Alt-Right commentator was refused entry to New Zealand because of her beliefs.

When we consider this closely we can see that there is an attempt to make society follow a close prescription. It takes a number of secular groups that have been discouraged in the past and makes those groups and their beliefs the dominant discourse. The progressive liberal community are now on top with their mantra of “Everyone must be tolerant.” and “Do what you will.” Interestingly this last statement is the only commandment of Satanism.

Yet they are becoming increasingly intolerant of Christianity. The conservative perspective is portrayed as backward and unacceptable. Any group that is intolerant toward Christians is strangely acceptable and exonerated of their intolerance. 4) For instance the Islamic movement is intolerant of Christianity and are key persecutors of Christians around the world. 5) In the West they lobby for the removal of Crosses and are strong advocates against Christian teachings in schools and society.

6) In the United States society is heavily divided between Christianity and Secularism. There is likely to be a day of reckoning and even a civil war to decide who is ultimately in control of the America. 7) In New Zealand the battle was won many years ago in the nations schools and universities. Here secularism is on top and the right is very much the underdog. I believe this will ultimately pave the way for persecution of the Church and the conservative movement in our nation.

So what is the goal of those who have so carefully constructed liberalism as a counter to moralism or Conservative Christianity? I put it to you that it is to attack and ultimately destroy Christianity. It will be the final expression of good versus evil and of darkness versus light. When the liberal progressives win the war. The outcome will be the same as in France during the French Revolution. Those perceived to be against the state will be executed and eliminated on the strength of the testimony against them and the testimony they bring.

A narrative is already constructed to initiate this scenario. That being the United Nations plan entitled 8) Agenda 21. The overview of this agenda is based on the fact that the world is drastically over populated and in a fatal decline. The only way to re-mediate this situation is to cut the world’s population to half a billion souls or less. When the left versus right war begins it will cause drastic steps to have to be taken. The rights of the individual will be greatly reduced and much of humanity will be seen as surplus to requirements. With new technology making man power obsolete much of humanity is without a purpose for living. A fact that is not lost on the global elite who engineered this state of affairs. With an automated Earth they don’t need the rest of mankind.

Call it the holocaust or the final solution. The bible has this to say. Matthew 24: 22 "If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened. Friends this is a battle between good and evil. Ephesians 6:12 for our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Romans 8: 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

So all that we see in the world around us is part of a continual battle against the powers of Satan and spiritual wickedness. But in the opinion of the Apostle Paul nothing is able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. So be saved. Know that Jesus of Nazareth bore your sins upon the cross. That the wages of sin is death but the freely given gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6:23). Know that the victory is already won and that we live in a time when 9) Satan knows his time is short. Hence the voracity of his plans. Therefore fear not and take up the armor of God. Lets do what Christians do. Lets take the gospel to the lost and stand fast in the face of the enemy. Make that revolution a revival.

Ephesians 6: 13Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Understanding Unbelief...

Quite often Christians take a round swing at unbelievers usually condemning them for not believing in God or not believing in sin or, not believing in a literal hell. Really it’s not that surprising that unbelievers don’t believe in God because they are taught evolution and humanism.

Evolution is brought by the priests of science and tells them everything just happened so there is no creator. Humanism is taught by atheists and tells them we’re all just people living our lives so there is no sin to be accounted for to a creator who doesn’t exist. Most people are happy to not have to think about weighty issues like life after death anyway.

The sad thing about Christians getting all judgmental is that it does a lot of damage to unbelievers and usually turns them away from God and quite often can’t be redressed. I mean ask your self would you be more inclined to come to Christ if the person leading you is a kind and gentle soul or an arrogant sarcastic person?

My point here is, that we need to trust in God to work the miracle that will win an unbeliever to him. Just share a verse or two and talk about your faith and Jesus work in your life. Let the Lord do the heavy lifting. Be a breath of fresh air not a prophet of doom.

Perspectives

It is interesting how perspective changes how we see and interact with the issues we see as being important. Take the life of Yeshua. He said many wise and important things. 1) He said that he came not to abolish the law but to fulfill it. Yet to many this is a contradiction. 2) Yeshua became the sacrifice for the sins of all mankind. In him we are set free so surely he has made the law redundant. No he has made what was unobtainable under the law possible under grace. Through the indwelling of the holy spirit and the propitiation of our sins in Yeshua we are free of sin and able to keep the law in him.

But a persons perspective colors the way they see reality. Some say we are still under the law. Some say we don’t even need to know the law because we are under grace. Some say we need to know the law and we can keep the law because in the power of the holy spirit we are free from sin. This is an important theological issue and yet there is a circumstance which makes this issue irrelevant.

I received a prayer list from Barnabas Fund recently. One of the first calls to prayer described Pastor Stephen in Sudan. In the early hours of the morning Islamists arrived at his house demanding to know why he was still preaching Yeshua. His preaching has led many new converts to the Lord. They cut the limbs of each member of his family until they died. Stephen preached to them and sang Hosanna until he died.

Martyrdom brings things into sharp focus. A theological knowledge is handy but it is a first world matter. What really matters is that you have a hope of salvation. That you know Yeshua bore your sins on the cross. That you have confessed your sins to him and asked him to be your savior and to make his place in your heart and life. DO YOU HAVE A HOPE OF SALVATION.

Left Behind...

Left behind to me means one of two different scenarios. The definition of “left behind” most Christians will relate to is that the “Rapture of the Church” has just taken place and for some reason you’re still here.
The other definition of “left behind” relates specifically to a feeling that I am beginning to have more and more often as I age. At 57 years young I’m feeling like life is leaving me behind and I don’t feel a strong connection to the society that I’m living in. Not the way I used too when I was a youth anyway.
This later definition is the one I want to explore first because I see some very concerning aspects to this scenario. However, I think this feeling of disconnection is a normal part of aging that comes as we get older and the mantle of leadership is transferred to a new younger generation who seem to be far too comfortable with the way society is developing and how issues like new technology are changing human interaction.
One factor that makes this so is the change in the human brain that takes place as we age. In the forties and fifties reasoning skills begin to slow, memory begins to fade 1). In the sixties the brain begins to literally shrink. Moral decision making, regulating emotions and social decision making actually improve from middle age. These changes in themselves are evidenced in people becoming less flexible and more conservative as they age. Which explains why as we age we struggle to acclimate to the changes in the environment that we live in.
However as a Christian commentator I have become very concerned with the rift that has occurred in society between secular groups. New Zealand has been a largely liberal progressive society for at least forty years. Although during that time there has been noticeable change in the dominant discourse of today when compared to the New Zealand of forty years ago. Back then the dominant group was considered to be white males in their forties. Now the dominant group is best described as liberal progressive academics approaching middle age.
This change is evidenced by a change in the prevailing dialogue in today’s media. This relates mainly to political issues which are now underpinned by the liberal, feminist, LGBT, socialist and racial issues agendas. An example was a recent article on the front page of a 2) local news paper describing a situation where a Māori woman was portrayed as the victim of a racist telephone conversation. This happened she while attempting to obtain information about a car she was interested in purchasing. To me this graphically demonstrates a paradigm shift in the dominant discourse of the day. This article would not have appeared in the media forty years ago much less on the front page of a popular news paper.
I believe this is a problem because it indicates the growing gap between liberal and conservative perspectives and an increasing level of intolerance between each group. As I mentioned earlier New Zealand has been increasingly seen as a liberal progressive democracy. However traditional conservatives are small group in this country and therefore have a smaller social voice. A better example of what I am talking about is in the USA where the conservative and liberal groups are both large and of a similar size. They are increasingly intolerant of each other’s position. California 3), a strongly liberal progressive state has seriously put forward the idea of secession from the United States. It is possible under President Trump that there could arise a situation that could lead to civil war. Maybe not likely but certainly there is much more likelihood in 2018 than would have been entertained back in 1993, twenty five years ago.
Pew-forum states that there are 25.4% Evangelical Christians, 14.7% Mainline Christian and 20.8% Catholic in the United States. 4) So 60.9% of Americans fall into the Category of Christian. These are people of faith who hold to a moral perception of how life should be lived and it is fair to say that they are at odds with the liberal left. They don’t agree with abortion or accept the LGBT lifestyle and are termed bigots by those on the left. Forty years ago the generation that fought WWII held identical views to the American Evangelical Christian of today. They were the dominant discourse of that time throughout America and the West.
As I have pointed out, in America the majority of the population are people of faith and yet they have to a large extent been disenfranchised from the government of the country. It is also accurate to say that secular humanists control the majority governments in America and the countries of the West. Christians have been pushed aside. The Christian majority are said to be out of step or to use a New Age quote “millions of people can't adapt” 5) This statement means that they can’t adapt to the teaching of New Age - Liberal left. Essentially this means we are left behind or left out and are not worth listening too. I know that I increasingly feel that darkness is engulfing our world and that this world is no longer for me.
Call it the New Age or the New World Order or even the Global Elite. It might be defined as the bible terms it. The Mystery of Iniquity. But the people of darkness have insinuated themselves into every facet of society and oppose the work of God’s people at every level. They have gained control and they demonstrate that we are in the last days as described in the scriptures. The verses below describe the predicament of these times.
Second Timothy chapter 3: 1But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people. 6They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over gullible women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires, 7always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth. 8Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these teachers oppose the truth. They are men of depraved minds, who, as far as the faith is concerned, are rejected. 9But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those men, their folly will be clear to everyone. NIV

So as believers what can we do about this situation of being left behind or as the Priests of the New Age term it being of the millions of people who can’t adapt. Well in America they have tried with some success to get a group of people into the government to represent Christian views. Their hope is that President Trump will change society back as he has promised to do. In New Zealand we had a party called the Conservative party which was supported by many Christians but in the end human fallibility lead to the demise of that party.
Personally I think Christians need to return to the basics. Scripture says that we are not of this world, we belong to Jehovah. 1John verse 15 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father[a] is not in them. 16 For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. 17 The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.7) NIV
Trying to force our viewpoint on an unwilling global society is not what God wants us to do. Our job is to preach the gospel to all of mankind and to win them to Jesus Christ through faith alone.
 8) Matthew chapter 28 verse 16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
We may be feeling left behind but our duty is not to change the world by our own works. Rather to lead those around us to Jesus so that by being indwelt of the holy spirit that these new followers of the only begotten Son of God. Who having won eternal life and a new Godly character will, one by one, lead this world back to Christ and to sanity. That is our commission.
Part 2 :
Now as to the other kind of being left behind. I will be brief. This is the scenario. You find that the event mentioned in the bible called the Rapture has occurred and you considering yourself to be a Christian are still here on Earth.
Thessalonians Chapter 4 verse 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 9) NIV
So if you find yourself left behind. Check your faith. What do you believe? Make sure that you know and believe John Chapter 3 verse 16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 10) NIV
My friend if you find yourself in the midst of the Time of Tribulation and the Rapture has taken place you have just been afforded the opportunity of a life time. You are a person of purpose and great blessings from Yahweh Elohim and his only begotten Son Yeshua. You are there to lead those who turn away from Antichrist to a knowledge of their great salvation in Yeshua.
You are definitely participating. May God bless you greatly and don’t forget to pray.

I have a theory...

Non Christians need read no further. I have a theory. First may I say that I may be a Christian. I have a hope of salvation. A hope that I hope is not misplaced. I believe that Jesus bore my sins on a cross in his good grace.
My theory goes this way you see. I’ve noticed that in games of sport in a youth long past and in games of intrigue in life so dearth. When pursuing goals that are not of God. I am not good at pushing the attack but I cannot be beaten when the enemy comes back. Get past Sir if you feel you dare. But I’m a natural back and and well you will not fare.
Second, I’ve developed the theory that I have and come to an epiphany. I’d love to preach but I just can’t help. When I start to write I can only teach. I think that’s not how I want to say it. To preach is what I’d love to do some day. Can it be that a back is a teacher and a forward is a preacher. In a game like hockey or football where a back defends and a forward attacks. So a preacher sees the devil and he attacks and the teacher defends against Satan as one of the backs.
Sewing knowledge in the hearts of the flock and leading them to stand on the Rock. So that in the day of trial, no matter with how much guile the devil will not prevail. Yes knowledge of how to resist so that when the devil goes about like a roaring lion. Then the flock can stand-fast in certainty that the enemy will not last nor will he ever get past.
Amen. Come Lord Jesus.

Christian Evangelism or Secular Humanism..?

As an impressionable child I was very tempted to embrace the ideals of secular humanism. The idea that sin was not the issue but rather intolerance was the issue. That one person has no right to interfere with the beliefs and actions of another. Because I was young and impressionable. I didn’t really see the conflict between secular humanism and Christianity.

In the secular realm I adored the idea that man could conquer science and begin a conquest of space. That eventually mankind would rival God in our ability to craft planets and stars. In thousands of years. Taking cities into space as in the book “The City and the Stars” by Arthur C. Clarke. In millions of years. That we would overcome the laws of physics and rule the solar system, the galaxy and eventually the universe. That we would evolve into beings of spirit and then take our place as eternal beings.

Back then the mantra of secular humanism was overtly included in school curriculum and taught by young teachers who had unwittingly been exposed to it in their
training programs. Like me they didn’t understand that words can be crafted to appeal to the heart of a man. Yet those words can be more lethal than the poison of Asps. Take the idea that sin was only a moral construct not a life defining principle that could result in eternal death. That one person has no right to interfere with the beliefs and actions of another regardless of the consequences. Powerful ideals crafted by evil men whose only driving force was the devil himself.

I didn’t understand that these secular principles had already been tried and seen millions of innocent people sent to their deaths. Think of the Soviet Union under Lennon and Stalin. Under Stalin alone, it is said that 66 million were sent to an early grave in forced labor camps and gulags. Move back two hundred years to a time when revolutionary fervor swept through Europe resulting in the carnage that became the French Revolution. Then in the nineteenth century to the attempts at revolution in the Austro-Hungarian Empire, a melting pot of humanism, which eventually led to the first world war in 1914.

So what led me to reject humanism and to embrace Christianity? Firstly, and I thank God that this is the case. My family has deep Christian roots on both sides. Deuteronomy chapter 7 verse 9 says this about those who fear the Lord our God; Jehovah: "Know therefore that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God, who keeps His covenant and His loving kindness to a thousandth generation with those who love Him and keep His commandments...” So God showed his loving kindness to me and I stayed with him and eventually moved away from secular humanism

Secondly, Jesus had a purpose for me and he began to to educate me in the things of God. From a child I experienced the presence of the holy spirit and the love of Christ in my life. The Lord brought about a situation where my dad passed when I was six years old, two of my brothers were young Christians, there were challenges in my family life and my schooling was not going well. So at the age of nine I began a two year stretch at an Anglican boarding school where the principal was also a Canon of the Church. He was a man of many talents and a strong faith in Jesus Christ.

What I learned during that time impacted on my life and helped to define who I would eventually become. At the time I became a capable student in the academic sense. I learned a lot about the bible and a lot about how a Christian life can be lived to the benefit of others from a man who lived his life that way.

Later the example my family set as a strong Christian family shaped my life and as a teenager and I was simply immersed in life with strong Christians who were leading strong Christian lives. I had discussions with my siblings about humanism and what they had to say on top of the fact that I had given my life to Christ as a child helped to set me free from it.

However, for many years I was a distracted Christian. For a long time I was caught up in a busy life as a farmer and a parent. Far to many years passed in service of myself and not God and in away humanism still had a foothold in my life. But eventually changes took place in my life and God caught my attention again. I guess you could look at John chapter 15 and say I may have come close to being cut out of the vine but the Father’s vine dressing finally came through and I came right.

John 15: 1“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunesa so that it will be even more fruitful. 3You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
5“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

Finally, I came to an understanding of the battle of God versus evil. I came to see that secular humanism has become enshrined in our society and that it is causing carnage in the lives of our people. It has removed any shred of moral decency from the lives of so many. Our people are living lives that are in many senses depraved and they are having to accept the consequences even though they don’t realise it. Today We have children who often only have one biological parent living with them or who live with a grand parent. In some cases they live with people they are not related too. People who are addicted to substances and have to prostitute themselves or resort to a life of crime to support the addiction.

So personally if faced with the question. “Christian Evangelism or Secular Humanism?” There is no doubt in my mind. Christian Evangelism is the only choice you can make if you want the best for our people. When you see the impact that humanism has had in the past and that it is having now in New Zealand. What with the creation of a class who have nothing and live in servitude and who are denied the blessings of God because they are taught you can’t believe what you can’t prove. A people duped and ruled by a Super Elite that worship the Devil.

As Christians we need to join in prayer for God to raise strong Christian leaders to restart a revival after the likes of John Wesley in the United Kingdom in the eighteenth century. Sadly we stand in the Western World as the Church of Laodicea in Revelation chapter 3 verse 16: 'So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth.’ 17 'Because you say, "I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have need of nothing," and you do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked...’ So before a genuine revival can take place we need to take the advice of the Ancient of Days in verse 18: I advise you to buy from Me gold refined by fire so that you may become rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself, and that the shame of your nakedness will not be revealed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see. Amen Lord Jesus!

Benjamin Netanyahu – Who Is He?

Benjamin Netanyahu is the current serving Prime Minister of the nation of Israel. It could be said he is the long term guardian...
