The Gospel in Sixty Seconds - Sin
James 4:17 “Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin” Sin is unrighteousness; working wickedness; the conscious decision to do something even if when we know it is wrong in our heart.
Isaiah 59:2 “But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear.” Our sins separate us from God and he does not hear us.
Luke 13:3 “No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.” If we don’t stop sinning we will suffer eternal death.
1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” If we confess our sins to God and seek forgiveness in Christ Jesus name then God is faithful to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us of all sin.
John 3:16 ““For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” Thus the gospel is that if we believe that Christ Jesus bore our sins upon the Cross and seek His forgiveness we will not die the second death but rather God will forgive our sins and give us eternal life.
